1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using familypetmanager.com (the "Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

familypetmanager.com provides software tools to assist in the management, tracking, and recovery of pets via digital profiles and QR tags. The Service acts as a digital ledger and notification platform.

3. "As-Is" Provision & No Guarantees

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE RELIABILITY OR EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SERVICE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT USING THIS PLATFORM WILL RESULT IN THE SAFE RECOVERY OF A LOST PET.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall familypetmanager.com, its operators, or its affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, or consequential damages—including, without limitation, damages for emotional distress, loss of property (including pets), or loss of data—arising out of or in any way connected with the use or performance of the Service.

In no event shall our total liability to you for all damages, losses, or causes of action exceed the amount of one hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00).

5. Service Interruptions & Automated Alerts

We rely on third-party infrastructure to host data and dispatch email notifications. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We are not liable for any delays, delivery failures, or missed automated alerts resulting from spam filters, server outages, or external API failures.

6. User Conduct & Content (UGC)

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for the content, photos, and information you upload. You may not upload content that is illegal, abusive, copyrighted by others, or otherwise objectionable.

Community Data Evolution

By submitting pet breeds, colors, or behavioral descriptions, you grant us a non-exclusive license to aggregate and use this data (anonymously) to evolve our global registries and improve the accuracy of our AI systems for the entire community.

7. Right to Terminate

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, delete user-generated content, or restrict your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice or liability.

8. Sponsors and Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, advertisers, or sponsors. We do not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any products, services, or claims made by these third parties. Any transactions, communications, or disputes between you and a sponsor are strictly between you and that third party. We are not liable for any loss or damage incurred as a result of such dealings.

9. Financial Data

Family Pet Manager provides financial tracking as a convenience. We are not responsible for tax calculations or official financial reporting. Users should consult a professional accountant for tax purposes.

10. Transfer of Records & Anonymization

By initiating a Transfer, you agree to provide a read-only copy of the animal's history to the recipient. Once accepted, you cannot delete records that have become part of the new owner's provenance history. In the event of an account "Scrub" or deletion, your identity will be redacted (replaced with [DELETED USER]), but the pet's clinical history will persist for the new owner's safety.

11. Tiered Recovery & Secure Contact

Our Recovery System facilitates secure communication between finders and owners. By using this feature, you agree:

  • Anti-Abuse: To use the "Secure Contact" feature only for legitimate pet recovery purposes. Harassment or solicitation via these channels will result in an immediate permanent ban.
  • Tiered Delivery: Delivery channels (Email, SMS) depend on the owner's subscription tier. We utilize **AWS SNS** and **Twilio** for high-urgency alerts but cannot guarantee delivery due to external carrier or filter variables.
  • PII Masking: To respect the privacy of all parties. No direct contact information is shared; all alerts are routed through our secure communication proxy.

12. Shelter Re-Intake & Synchronization

Automated Continuity of Care

When a pet re-enters a participating shelter or municipal facility ("Re-Intake"), you consent to the automated synchronization of the pet's latest medical and ownership history. This ensures that the facility has access to the most recent life-safety data to provide proper care.

13. AI-Assisted Digitization & Verification

Our "Paper-to-Digital" tools utilize multimodal AI (Gemini 1.5 Flash) to assist in record ingestion. While these systems are highly accurate, **YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE ACCURACY** of all digital data against the original physical records during the multi-step review process. Family Pet Manager assumes no liability for errors in clinical or registration data resulting from AI processing.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the platform after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes.
